Meeker & Vernal – Dates To be announced for early 2011
Outdoorsman and photographer Scott Patterson will present a slideshow on the scenic, wild lands, and wonders of Moffat County and why they are important. Scott's goal is to show people that grand tourist attractions indeed do exist in Moffat County that are every bit as spectacular as places like Zion National Park or the Grand Canyon.
The slide show will feature photos of Scott, his wife and the kids exploring various attractions in Moffat County. Scott's photos of children and senior citizen family and friends in the wildlands show that the wilderness is for everyone and not just a select few macho 20 and 30 somethings. Scott will also relate the story about his part in the discovery of Outlaw Arch in Dinosaur National Monument.
Outlaw Arch was discovered by Scott Patterson and his hiking buddies while they were exploring wild Moffat County. The arch is one of the largest natural arches in the world and the biggest in the world discovered since 1950. The story of the discovery of Outlaw Arch has been featured in such prominent magazines as National Geographic-Adventure, Backpacker and 5280.
